A part of Lanquín since 1989

Hotel El Recreo Lanquín – Champey was founded in 1989, when Lanquín was just beginning to open its doors to travelers. At that time, the road to Lanquín was still under construction, and we were proud to become the first hotel in Lanquín.

Since then, we have welcomed travelers from Guatemala and around the world, growing together with our community and with Lanquín as a destination.

Today, we offer different accommodation options to suit different travelers and budgets, from affordable rooms to more spacious and comfortable options. Our rooms are available with either a fan or air conditioning, and include private bathrooms, hot-water showers, Wi-Fi and cable TV.

For those who prefer a closer connection with nature, we also have a camping area. Our restaurant offers a convenient place to enjoy a meal during your stay, whether you are preparing for a day of adventure or relaxing after exploring the area.

More than three decades later, our goal remains the same: to offer travelers a comfortable, welcoming and convenient place to stay while discovering the natural beauty of Lanquín and Alta Verapaz.
